BLOG POST #46
Isaiah 9:6 “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… And he will be called Wonderful Counselor..”
Proverbs 3: 5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
Thought: In the Bible we find that God encourages us to ask Him for wisdom and to seek His counsel and His will when making decisions. Why? When Isaiah prophesied the birth of Christ he said the Son of God would be a Wonderful Counselor. What does that mean?
- Wonderful: Capable of eliciting wonder;
- Wonder: rapt attention or astonishment at something awesomely mysterious or new to one's experience
- Counselor: a person who gives advice
- Wonderful Counselor = A person who gives advice capable of eliciting rapt attention or astonishment at something awesomely mysterious or new to one’s experience
Conclusion: It’s good to have access to and make use of a wonderful counselor.
